As we all know that covid-19 cancelled one of the most exciting times in the year when it comes to sports March Madness. As march madness was cancelled due to the Corona virus it plays a huge factor into college basketball players' stock in the NBA Draft. Just because march madness was cancelled players did not have that extra chance to showcase their talents while the whole world was watching. Covid-19 potentially made some players up in the draft just because they had a bad month or even week. Then you have some players that just absolutely shocked GM's in the regular season who were not projected to get drafted in the first round at all.which would turn out great from them because their draft stock will shoot up. Without them having to showcase their talents again. Covid-19 may have cancelled March Madness but it did not cancel the NBA Draft Day. Do you think it is fair enough for college basketball players that had high expectations that did not do so hot during the regular season. Here is the 2020 NBA mock draft coming into the season in the number one prospect was James Wiseman Due to NCAA violations that were getting investigated he got suspended for half of the season but due to that he withdrew from the university and stopped playing college basketball for the rest of the year. My point is just for players that are like James Wiseman that were not able to showcase their talents due to Covid-19 I personally do not think it is fair because these eighteen and nineteen year old young adults are missing out on millions of dollars due to a pandemic. But then we have players like the outstanding stud Anthony Edwards who had some phenomenal games throughout the season and finished the season alright for the Georgia Bulldogs. He has moved up to the number one spot in the draft as of right now. Do you think Anthony Edwards showcased enough of his talent in order to keep gm’s impressed to keep and maintain the number one spot in the draft? Here are some highlights of the potential number 1 draft pick. Then we have players such as Obi Toppin that blew up after an outstanding regular season. Only into his second season Obi stats improved drastically by points. As an under the radar player coming into his sophomore season Obi only averaged 14 points per game after his freshman season. Obi has a 6’9 frame and weighs in at 220 and plays the forward position. Due to his frame, athleticism, and his progression in his stats coming into the regular season. Obi is projected to go second pick in the first round to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Obi going into this upcoming season was not knowing if he was going to get drafted top 5 pick at all is it a possibility that covid-19 plays a huge role. I truly believe it does because as he or any other players truly did not get to play a the rest of the season out to make gm's or teams decision on how consistent he or other players actually are throughout a full basketball season .
