This weeks most notable jump in the Ap Poll was UCLA. They received 30 votes and moved to the #1 spot in the Pac 12. The Bruins are a bubble team for the NCAA tournament now that they are on a 7 game winning streak. This streak started February 8th with a win at No. 11 Arizona and they could end their season with an 8 game win streak if they pull off the win at USC. An eight game winning streak seems notable, but not when you come from a history of winning streaks like the Bruins do. In 1966, the legend, John Wooden led his team to a 47 game winning streak and ended up going 205-5 from 1966-1973. Within that 205 game span there was a 41 game win streak found too. Wooden and the Bruins won the national championship seven years in a row during that period of time. The 88 game winning streak ended in 1974 with a loss to No. 9 Notre Dame in the last seconds of the game.

UCLA holds the record for longest win streak and also holds 2 more spots in the top 10 for longest win streaks. They have been known for win streaks since 1963 and the 2019 Bruins are trying to pull off their own mini streak at the conclusion of the season. With Chris Smith and Jalen Hill averaging 13.1 and 9.2 points per game, the Bruins have made themselves contenders for the tournament.
